• Imago Relationship Therapy

Based on the books "Getting the Love You Want" and "Keeping the Love You Find" by Harville Hendrix, this type of therapy looks at the unconscious mechanisms that operate in relationships, and helps individuals, couples, families and co-workers learn powerful communication tools. Dr. Ashkins specializes in Recovering Couples where one or both partners are involved in 12-Step Recovery work.

• Life Coaching

This is the "un-therapy" that uses a wellness model to help individuals, couples, families and work groups achieve their potential in every area of their life. These elegant techniques encourage individuals to make small shifts in their daily behavior to achieve broader life goals and possibilities.

• Trauma

Several different techniques may be used to address trauma issues, including Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Eye Movement De-Sensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also Breathwork (using conscious breathing techniques to release stored energy).

• Healing Trauma

There has always been a widespread need for an outpatient trauma group and an overwhelming need to combine mind and body techniques. Even now, in post-Katrina New Orleans, the need for such a group is even greater. Healing Trauma is a six-week group that will combine yoga, mandala art therapy and small group process.

Couples Support Group

A monthly support group for couples who have participated in a basic Imago Workshop and who want to maintain Mindfulness skills and communication with their partner. Each month there will be two specific themes and topic areas.
